According to Eunice Police Chief Randy Fontenot, “The shooter in last Thursday’s double homicide in Eunice has turned himself in to the Eunice Police Department this morning. Travis Godfrey, Age 25, of 420 Acadia St., Eunice was arrested on 2 counts of first degree murder and illegal carrying of a weapon. He reported to the police department with his attorney and provided police with a prepared statement of his account of the incident. Although he has turned himself in, the investigation continues. We still have questions and are seeking the answers to insure that justice is served. We expect to have the case prepared and turned in to the District Attorney’s office within the next few weeks.”
