The Board of Directors of Westminster Christian Academy is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Ray Casey as the school’s new President.
Dr. Casey will begin his term effective today, June 20, 2022.
“Since the beginning of the search for the next leader of Westminster Christian Academy we’ve said we’re waiting on the Lord’s timing, and our Board unanimously agrees that Dr. Casey is Father God’s choice for President of WCA. He is a personable, family-oriented, and passionate educational leader with experience in strategic growth and leadership development, “remarked Board President Josh Proffitt. “We believe his dedication to and past demonstrations his excellence in all areas of Christian education, from academics, to athletics, to fine arts, to other extracurricular activities, to leadership and teacher development, to the overall student and family experience and value proposition, will position Westminster for greater achievements and growth in the coming years.
When combined with his professional experiences and achievements, we believe Dr. Casey’s firm foundation in Christ, deep devotion to the study of and obedience to God’s Word, and passion for sharing the Good New and love of Jesus, will richly bless our WCA family and the communities we are blessed to reach throughout Acadiana.”
Dr. Casey brings over 20 years of experience in PreK12 education. His varied expertise ranges from leading students on overseas mission trips, managing the pressures of the boardroom, and coaching girls’ and boys’ basketball. He was currently the Head of School for First Baptist Academy (FBA) in Naples, FL for the past five years. As Head of School, his primary focus was on strategic planning, leadership development, marketing for growth, and cultivating a heart for serving the local community.
In 2013, Dr. Casey earned his Doctorate in Educational Leadership and Organizational Renewal at Regent University School of Divinity in Virginia Beach, VA, with his dissertation focused on “How Leadership Makes and Breaks School Communities”. He additionally holds three earned master’s degrees in biblical studies, Nonprofit Management and Public Policy.
Along with his curiosity for learning, Dr. Casey has a passion for missions and sharing the Gospel around the world. Since 1985, he has served on or led 50 international and domestic service trips around the world.
“I am honored to be called to serve as President of Westminster Christian Academy.
My wife Esther and I cannot think of a more nurturing community than South Louisiana for our three youngest children, Bethany (17), Shane (13), and Ben (9) to receive a Christ-centered education and be loved well,” stated Dr. Casey. “I am grateful that the Lord has given me an opportunity to serve and see the transforming power of Christ in schools committed to Kingdom education, and we’re excited to be a part of what the Lord has in store for future growth on the Charger and Crusader campuses. I enthusiastically believe that the Father Heart of God is at the center of Jesus bringing the gospel to us and that every student at Westminster Christian Academy can experience His love and grace!
