NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN THAT a Special Meeting of the Mayor and Board of Aldermen of the City of Opelousas, State of Louisiana, has been ordered and called and will be held at their regular meeting place in the Meeting Room at City Hall Municipal Plaza, 105 N. Main Street, Opelousas, Louisiana, on Wednesday, July 5, 2023, at 2:00 o’clock P.M.
A budget committee has recommended sending to the Opelousas Board of Aldermen for further consideration a city administration plan that suggests spending $2.9 million in remaining American Rescue Acr funding.
Elected city officials might have their own plans for spending an approximate $2.9 that remains in American Rescue Act revenues, but Opelousas Mayor Julius Alsandor says the money should be spent on infrastructure projects that he contends are long overdue.
