Public Notice from the St. Landry Parish School Board: All schools and administrative offices will dismiss early tomorrow, January 24th, due to forecasted severe weather in our area.
In response to recent concerns from the community regarding animal control, St. Landry Parish Government will be holding a press conference to address concerns surrounding the shelter. The press conference will take place on Monday, January 23, 2023 at 11:00 AM at the St. Landry Parish Courthouse, Suite 34.

BOIL WATER ADVISORY — Due to conditions created from the winter storm, a City-Wide Boil Advisory will be issued until further notice.
Effective immediately, there will be a No Wake Zone in effect for all St. Landry Parish waterways until further notice as per an executive order by Parish President Jessie Bellard.
As of 4:30 p.m., 3,436 Cleco customers are without power due to
severe weather that continues to move across portions of the company’s service territory.
The public is advised that the bridge is out on Parkview and Dunbar avenues.
Addressing Systemic Inequities to Reduce Tobacco (ASIRT), a program of Louisiana Public Health Institute (LPHI) is seeking to engage local community leaders, organizations, and residents in Black, rural communities (Ferriday, Jonesville, Lake Providence, Tallulah, Bastrop, Delhi, Opelousas, Kentwood, St. Joseph, and Newellton) to work towards addressing systemic inequities that drive high rates of tobacco use.
