What began as an idea for a blog, quickly turned into an online newspaper when four partners signed on to the project. St. Landry Now began publishing local and area news about Opelousas and St. Landry Parish online last December. Since that time, reviews have been good, and the paper is gaining support daily. As a result, Opelousas has a new business.

Write Now Opelousas Publishing LLC, formed by partners Carola Lillie Hartley, Bobby Ardoin, Freddie Herpin and Karen Lagrange Cox, became an official business last week. Doing business as St. Landry Now, the company is publishing stories and photographs on local news, Louisiana and area history, culture, culinary, people, places, sports, events and activities, seasonal information, breaking news and so much more, all online. Plans are for the company to do other publication projects in the future.

When asked about the new St. Landry Now, the four partners agreed the online newspaper was needed in St. Landry Parish. Although news was available from several different sources, a place to get local and area news was lacking. St. Landry Now provides its viewers with that local news.

St. Landry Now online newspaper also offers several different advertisement and sponsorship opportunities for businesses and groups. For information, please contact St. Landry Now at (337) 451-0568.
