Opelousas General Health Systems is hosting a fun-filled Easter community event on Saturday, March 23rd with its Annual Health & Resource Fair to be held in South City Park from 9am to 12pm!

Edgar the Easter Bunny is back for another year to personally invite the public to this year’s Hop Into Spring Health & Resource Fair with games, prizes, an Easter Egg Hunt, and of course to take photos with the kids.

There will be fun jumps, face painting, cookie decorating and photos with the Easter Bunny.

The Easter Egg hunt will take place at 11:00 a.m. The first 250 participants will receive a free T-shirt! Bring the entire family, as there will be something for everyone.

About the Health Fair

In addition to fun festivities, the annual event also serves as a community event that brings health information, resources to the community and free health screenings which will include a thermal vein screening that detects lower extremity venous problems by the Cardiovascular Institute of the South.

Mary Bird Perkins from the Opelousas General Cancer Center will also be on-site providing information about cancer screenings as well as the importance of early detection. Acadian Ambulance will provide details about “Stop the Bleed.” Additional information will be provided from local partners including Medicaid regarding eligibility and re-enrollment guidance.
