St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial Director Pat Mason-Guillory and her volunteers were on hand at the Yambilee Building Momday morning when the Home Depot Lafayette Store arrived bearing gifts. In observance of Veterans Day, November 11, the store generously donated $6000 in merchandise to be distributed to area veterans. Mason-Guillory and her volunteers will be hosting the Hats Off to Veterans Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 9, at the Yambilee Building. The fundraiser event gets underway at 11:30 a.m. where veterans with tickets can pick up their gifts from Home Depot. Veterans who did not receive gifts will receive them at a veterans gumbo beginning at noon at the VFW Hall in Opelousas.
