Love the Boot Week is April 20-28, 2024. Love the Boot is Louisiana’s largest litter cleanup and beautification event. In 2023, 12,777 individuals volunteered a total of 61,493 hours, removing 313 tons of litter in all 64 parishes. On Tuesday members of the Interact Club met at Le Vieux Village along with Melanie LeBouef, Yvonne Normand and Doris Barrow to pick up litter and refurbish plants and gardens around the Opelousas tourist attraction. The Interact Club is a Rotary Club sponsored youth group, age 14-18 years old, involved in providing community service and leadership with emphasis on peace.
