Deputies assigned to the Opelousas Marshal’s Office Criminal Interdiction Unit (CIU) while conducting proactive patrols located a large amount of fentanyl inside a vehicle. The three occupants of the vehicle also had active warrants with the Opelousas City Court as well as the 27th Judicial District Court, St. Landry Parish. The amount of fentanyl seized on this traffic stop would be enough to kill multiple individuals. This incident occurred inside of a school zone.
