It was beginning to look a lot like Christmas in the town of Washington Saturday as the town celebrated their annual Christmas festival.Christmas in Washington, centered downtown, was a family oriented event where vendors were selling homemade Christmas gifts and a variety Creole-Cajun style food items. In the Kids Corner there were a variety of games, face painting and balloon art. Even the Grinch was spotted in the crowd but he wasn’t there to steal Christmas, just there for a good time. The line started forming early as children of all ages lined up to visit with Santa and Mrs. Claus who was there with the chief elf finding out what was on their Christmas list. The festival came to an end with the lighting of the town’s Christmas tree.
