 Memorial Day Ceremony 

When: Monday, May 30, 2022 

Time: 10:00 A.M. 

Where: Yambilee Building  – 1939 West Landry Highway 190  – Opelousas, LA 

The theme, “We Must Never Forget” will honor those men and women who gave the ultimate sacrifice, those MIA/POW (Missing In Action/Prisoners of War, respectively). 

There will be “Roll Calls” of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in defense of our Country during WW I, WW II, Korean War, Vietnam War and the Iraq/Afghanistan. 

Mr. Don Reber, State Sr. Vice-President/VFW will be the “Keynote Speaker” for this year’s ceremony. Other participants include: Northwest High School JROTC, Members of Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW), American Legions, and other members of the Armed Forces and community leaders from surrounding parishes. 

Gold Star Mothers and Family members will also be recognized and honored. 

The ceremony will conclude with a motorcade from the Yambilee Building to the Veterans Memorial on Hwy 182 South with a 21 Gun Salute, Raising of the US Flag at 1200 hour followed by TAPS.
