When St. Landry Now reporter Bobby Ardoin asked me to accompany him to NuNu’s Wednesday afternoon I jumped at the opportunity. The assignment was to cover the visit of Secretary General Louise Mushikiwabo of the International Francophone. Organization.

It was a good assignment but the main reason I wanted to attend was NuNu’s marketing person, Jackie Cochran. For many years she and I worked together at the Daily World. She was a first class reporter and I always enjoyed going on assignments with her. Her beat was the St. Landry Parish School Board but she also covered pretty much everything ink St. Landry Parish. Her very first assignment if I remember right was covering a prominent senior citizen in Rosa, La. and yes, I drove 30 or so miles to get the photo.

Jackie is originally from New Orleans but has been calling Arnaudville home for many years. She recently purchased an old home there and is now in the process of renovating it to its former glory. She was glad to hear about St. Landry Now and promised to keep us informed about the goings on at NuNu’s and the Arnaudville area. It was good seein you again Jackie.
