There is no charge for smiles at Java Square, compliments of the local coffee shop’s manager, Eva Noel who has been at the job for about six months serving a variety of espresso coffee drinks such as latte, cappuccinos and much more inclluding sandwiches and soups.
Eva is back home in Opelousas but relishes the time she spent in the U.S. Army. The army veteran spent eight years in the service of her country including three years in England where her job description was an inspection analyst. She spent time in Alabama after her discharge but was glad to be back to her hometown of Opelousas where is she is well known throughout the community.
Besides her job at Java Square Eva is also associated with one of Acadiana’s best known entertainers. For the past 12 years she has managed the career of Cupid, known worldwide for his hit song Cupid Shuffle. She also manages comedian, Uncle Luck.
She also has an incredible singing voice that can be heard on Sundays at Our Savior’s Church, Rev. Eugene Reisner, pastor.
Eva has a lot to be thankful for but she is most proud of her two sons and her two granchildren.
