On September 28, 2023 Officers with the Opelousas Police Department’s Special Operations Division conducted a narcotics investigation in the 1200 Blk. of Cherbourg St. Investigators executed a search warrant after they verified information of illegal narcotics trafficking occurring at a residence in the 1200 Blk of Cherbourg St. Officers located illegal narcotics along with an illegally possessed firearm which resulted in the following arrest:

Joseph C. Sharlow III age: 28 of 1200 Blk of Cherbourg St. Opelousas, La. 70570

  1. Possession with intent to distribute schedule I narcotics
  2. Illegal possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS.
  3. Felon in possession of a firearm
  4. Violation of a Drug Free Zone
  5. Possession of Drug paraphernalia

Officers located over 5 lbs. of suspected marijuana and other evidence of narcotics trafficking during the search. Mr. Sharlow was booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
