St. Landry Parish school officials were introduced on Thursday night to three administrative employees while another longtime District-employed worker received congratulations as she departed for a position in another school system.

Superintendent Patrick Jenkins announced new building level principals for Krotz Springs Elementary and Eunice Junior High schools.

Also attending her first official school board meeting as finance director was Shaun Grantham.

Departing from School District employment is Tressa Miller, who said she is scheduled for employment as the finance and development director at the Academy of The Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau.

During a previous St. Landry Now interview, Miller indicated she worked as District finance director for the last 10 years.

During the meeting Thursday night Miller presented her final operating budget that will be used to help guide the District during 2022-23.

Britney Duvall told school board members that she will be the Krotz Springs Elementary principal this year.

Casey Comeaux, who has spent her entire career as a teacher and administrator in Eunice schools, is the EJHS principal.

Grantham has attended board regular and committee meetings during the past two months.

On Thursday night Grantham presided over the approval of the operating budget for the fiscal year that began July 1.

Grantham was also selected by board members to serve as the representative for the District on the St. Landry Parish Sales and Use Tax Commission.

The District is the official sales tax collection agency for St. Landry Parish.

Other Board Meeting Decisions

In a related Board finance issue, Kolder, Slaven and Company LLC was chosen to continue providing auditing services for the School District.

Grantham did not specify how much the District is scheduled to pay for auditing services.

Jenkins noted that Aug. 11 is the first day of classes for District schools.

Also school workers are scheduled to report for meetings beginning Aug. 3, Jenkins said.
