Today’s Photo from the Past shows an early Yambilee Parade as it rolled down Court Street during the 1940s.

Although it is from a very early Yambilee Festival, we know it is not from the first parade held in 1946. The weather was terrible for that first parade, and it rained for most of the entire first Yambilee Festival.

As you can see in this photo, the skies were clear and a beautiful blue for this parade, held sometime during the latter part of the 1940s. Notice the Holsum Bread sign on the New Drug Store Building. (Photograph from Carola Lillie Hartley Collection.)
