The Ghost of Christmas Past

Carola Lillie Hartley

The holiday season in downtown Opelousas meant beautiful window displays, many shoppers and a host of activities during the 1950s. Main Street from Bellevue to Landry streets, all decorated for the season, is beautifully captured in this photograph taken by the internationally known award winning photographer, and Opelousas native, James A. Bourdier. (Carola Lillie Hartley Collection)
