When. Kenneth Thibodeaux returned home from Viet Nam he and his fellow vets did not receive a heroes welcome from the American public. It is a different world today and our returning veterans receive all the praise and gratitude given to them. It is one of the reasons Kenneth was at the St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial Wednesday morning to be part of a ceremony where WorkmenLife representatives donated $1000 to help defray costs of a visitors center to be built on the grounds of the SLP Memorial.

Kenneth sits on the board and is also a volunteer for the SLP Memorial. He is also a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and the American Legion and has served as honor guard at military funerals, just another way of honoring the veterans. Before his recent illness the army veteran served as an usher at St. Landry Catholic Church. On behalf of this great nation I want to take time to thank you for your military service and all that you do to honor our veterans.
