St. Landry Parish Clerk of Court Charles Jagneaux is asking any voter who might have had difficulty voting during the November election held Tuesday, Nov. 8, 2022, to contact his office immediately.
Jagneaux said on Thursday that he along with Parish President Jessie Bellard, State Representative Dustin Miller and St. Landry Parish Registrar of Voters Byron Stelly, are investigating any difficulties that parish residents may have had when they attempted to vote during Election Day.
“We want to make sure that everyone’s vote count. There are many parts to the election process and each function is overseen by the Parish Board of Election Supervisors,” Jagneaux said on Thursday.
Jagneaux added that he wants to make sure that in the future there won’t be any difficulties in voting that occur in St. Landry Parish.
“We need the help of the public in this matter. If you were not able to vote in an election or in a district where you normally voted, we are asking the public to call the Clerk of Court at 337-942-5606 at extension 122 and ask for parish election coordinator Deborah Sostand,” Jagneaux said.
Jagneaux said that those who contact his office with issues concerning voting should be prepared to provide their names, birthdates and the specific problem that they experienced in the voting booth.
