According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “On October 3, 2022, narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office conducted an undercover investigation within St. Landry Parish. During the investigation, detectives made contact with a silver Kia Sorento occupied by Jaquayland Trevon Bradley Rosette of Sunset. Jaquayland Rosette’s 1-year-old infant was also inside the vehicle.”
During a search of the vehicle, detectives located a semi-automatic handgun, 2 pounds of marijuana and $800.00 in US currency. The estimated street value of the marijuana is approximately $18,120.00.
Through further investigation, detectives were able to locate and seize an additional $4,600.00 in US currency.
On October 3, 2022, Jaquayland Trevon Bradley Rosette was transported to the St. Landry parish Jail and charged with illegal use of a CDS in the presence of persons under 17 years of age, possession with intent to distribute schedule I CDS (marijuana), transactions involving proceeds from drug offenses, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of a firearm in the presence of a CDS.
Sheriff Guidroz stated, “Anyone with information about illegal drug activity is encouraged to call the St. Landry Parish Sheriff Department’s Drug Hotline at 337- 948-1030. All callers remain anonymous and the information is kept strictly confidential.”
