Opelousas, LA – Generations Sports, in collaboration with The City of Opelousas and the Rotary
Club of Opelousas Sunrise – Love Project, will be hosting “Golf In The Park” at North City Park in
Opelousas, LA on Saturday, May 6th from 12pm-2pm.

It will feature an introduction to golf as well as mentorship from special guests Chris Arceneaux (Head
Golf Professional – Jay & Lionel Hebert Golf Course), Johnny Hector (Former NFL Player – New York
Jets), Tim Sensley (Former NFL Player – New York Giants), and Darryl “DC” Charles (Former USL
Basketball Standout) as well as other volunteers and mentors.

This program is the brainchild of Professional Golfer Chris Arceneaux, who previously hosted “Golf In
The Park” while in New York. The initiative of this program is to bring the game of golf to
underprivileged kids as it can be difficult for some to learn about the game due to transportation and
other challenges they may face.

Chris hopes that he along with the roster of other special guests and volunteers in attendance can
empower and inspire all who attend to achieve their dreams as well as inform them about the benefits
the game of golf can provide. Chris also believes that “Golf In The Park” can be the catalyst to
bringing golf programs and golf teams back into local schools in communities throughout Acadiana.

The Benefits Of Teaching Kids To Golf!
When you teach your children to golf, you’ll also be teaching them lessons about life. Not only will
they learn patience and good manners, but they’ll also need to learn about concentration and
discipline if they wish to improve. By teaching your kids to golf, you’re introducing them to a sport they
may be able to play for the rest of their lives. A great benefit of teaching your child to golf is the
opportunity to do something fun.
