According to Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz, “The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Narcotics Unit continues their fight against illegal Narcotics sold in St. Landry Parish. Furthering their investigation into the Laura T. Marler drug trafficking organization, the Narcotics Unit returned to Laura Marler’s residence located at 6402 Highway 31 in Opelousas to execute a search warrant. Laura Marler’s husband, David Marler, was present at the residence.”

Local Attorney Faces Multiple Charges

“Laura Marler is a licensed practicing attorney in St. Landry Parish. On May 12, 2023 narcotics detectives with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office discovered that Laura Marler was doing more than practicing law. After conducting a traffic stop on a Nissan Altima in the St. Landry Parish area, contact was made with the driver, identified as Laura Marler.”
