Whataburger, a fast food restaurant based in Texas is coming to Opelousas and is hoping for a mid to late August 2024 opening. The restaurant, located at the I-49 Service Road behind Billy’s Boudin will hire around 100 employees. A groundbreaking ceremony, hosted by the St. Landry Chamber of Commerce was held at the chamber office, due to construction at the site, Thursday morning. Joining Mayor Julius Alsandor at the event were members of the St.Landry Chamber of Commerce and well wishers from throughout the St. Landry Parish area.
