Third Arrest Made in October 20, 2024 Homicide Investigation
Opelousas, La. – Investigators with the Opelousas Police Department have made a
third arrest in connection with the October 20, 2024, homicide of Jaleel Guidry.
Alexziah Joseph, a resident of Alexandria, Louisiana, has been taken into custody for
her role in the case. Joseph is believed to have driven from Alexandria to Opelousas on
the night of the homicide to pick up the individuals who were directly involved in the
crime.
Joseph has been booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail on the following charges:
Accessory to First-Degree Murder
Accessory to Attempted First-Degree Murder (5 counts)
Accessory to Assault by Drive-by Shooting
Obstruction of Justice
Chief Graig Leblanc expressed his gratitude to all those who contributed to the progress
of this investigation, stating:
“The collaborative efforts of our officers, investigators, and community have been
instrumental in bringing another suspect to justice. We remain committed to ensuring
accountability for this tragic event.”
