Four Arrests Made in May 24th Homicide Investigation

Opelousas, LA – Investigators with the Opelousas Police Department have made four arrests in connection with the shooting death of Justin Washington, which occurred on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at approximately 10:30 p.m.

During the course of the investigation, detectives interviewed several individuals who were present at the scene of the incident. As the investigation progressed, inconsistencies between witness statements and physical evidence prompted investigators to re-interview those individuals.

Through further questioning and evidence analysis, investigators determined that Jasean Mansfield, age 18, was responsible for discharging the firearm that resulted in the death of Mr. Washington.

Investigators also discovered that, following the shooting, multiple individuals inside the residence, where the incident occurred,  attempted to clean up the crime scene before law enforcement arrived. Those individuals were identified as Sharona Glaude, age 31, Latravien Glaude, age 19, and Koby Glaude, age 18.

A third interview was conducted with Jasean Mansfield, during which he confessed to his involvement in the incident. He was subsequently arrested and transported to the St. Landry Parish Jail, where he was booked on the charges of Negligent Homicide and Obstruction of Justice.

Sharona Glaude, Latravien Glaude, and Koby Glaude were each arrested and charged with Obstruction of Justice for their role in attempting to conceal the incident.

This case remains under investigation.
