Opelousas General Health System Welcomes
Dr. Samuel H. Muller to its Medical Staff
Opelousas, LA, 08/25/2025 – Lance Armentor, BSM, MHA, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health
System announces that Samuel H. Muller, M.D., will join the OGHS Medical Staff effective September 2025.
Dr. Muller specializes in Anesthesiology and joins Drs. Clint Elliott and Gregory Verlander as well as nine
CRNAs in providing anesthesiology services for Opelousas General.
“We are excited to welcome Dr. Muller to our medical staff,” said Armentor. “With the combination of skill
and expertise in anesthesiology along with his commitment to quality patient care, Dr. Muller will no doubt be
an invaluable addition to our surgical team. We look forward to the positive impact he will have on both our
patients and our hospital community,” he added.
Dr. Muller completed his medical training at Louisiana State University School of Medicine in New Orleans
and completed an internship and residency at Wake Forest Baptist Hospital in Winston-Salem, NC. Dr. Muller
is board certified in anesthesiology and is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists and
Louisiana Society of Anesthesiologists.
Prior to joining OGHS’ medical staff, Dr. Muller worked at Ochsner Lafayette General Medical Center as an
anesthesiologist.

tremendous anesthesia team in Opelousas and hope to serve this community for years to come,” he added.
