Storms were brewing all over Acadiana Saturday night but Sunday morning brought bright, warm sunshine just perfect for the thirsd day of fun at the Eunice Cajun Mardi Gras. The morning got started with an old time boucherie, a french term meaning buthcher shop or the trade of butchery. Onlookers watched as the large hog would be lunch for many of the festival goers. By mid-afternoon the boudin was ready as well as cracklins and backbone stew. Merci beaucoup cochon.
Band providingds the musical entertainment included Ryan Simon and Acadien; Regan Navarre and Louisiana Tradition; Leroy Thomas and the Zydeco Roadunners; Horace Trahan and Ossun Express; Donnie Broussard and Lil’ Lil’ Stars; Troy LeJeune and Lukass Meaux and Cajun Beat.. The Paw Paw Parade closed out the festivities for Sunday. But not to worry a full slate of events wa set for Lundi Gras leading up to the grand finale on Fat Tuesay.
