Heroes and personalities who played prominent roles during the two and half centuries of American history will be portrayed by local students and individuals on April 25 as the Opelousas Daughters of the American Revolution chapter hosts a commemorative program at the Delta Grand Theatre.
The event, which begins at 6 pm, will recognize and honor the people, places and stories that have endured during the 250-year history of America.
Carolyn Jarrell and Debbie Fay, two members of the local DAR chapter, have visited several public meetings during the past month, in order to help promote the event.
At a recent St. Landry Parish Council meeting, Jarrell told council members that Delta Grand seating is limited, so a ticket for the program is needed for admission.
Requests for free tickets can be obtained by calling Carolyn Jarrell at 337-945-4451.
