We are standing at a crossroads for Opelousas. When you look around our city, you see our incredible potential, our rich history, and our resilient community. But you also see challenges that have been ignored for far too long.
I have been committed to this fight from the very beginning. I chose to lead early because I knew our city couldn’t afford to wait another day for real change, and I wanted to ensure every resident had a voice throughout this entire process.
I believe city hall belongs directly to you. That is why the core of my campaign is built on a simple promise: When I become mayor, you become mayor. This isn’t just a slogan. It means transparency, community ownership, and a government that answers to the people, not the privileged few.
To those of you who are still undecided, who are waiting to see real commitment, I want to share my immediate priorities for our city.
First, we are going to fix what is broken, starting with our infrastructure. In my first 100 days, we will launch an aggressive plan to repair our potholes, clear our drainage systems, and increase police visibility to keep our neighborhoods safe. We will beautify our community, invest in public art, and grow our local economy by promoting local vendors and expanding pop-up markets.
Second, we are going to bring true fiscal responsibility and government accountability to city hall. You deserve to know exactly how your tax dollars are spent, which is why I am pledging 24/7 public access to city financial tracking.
Third, we will address the direct cost-of-living burdens facing our families. We are going to reform high water utility rates, introduce automated error checking for bills, and implement hardship payment plans so no one is left behind.
Finally, we will ensure that our city rules and resources apply equally to everyone. Our seniors, our children, and our residents with disabilities deserve the same support and opportunities as anyone else.
This election is about choosing a future of shared progress and absolute transparency. Please make it a priority to exercise your power, raise your voice, take advantage of your right and vote on November 3rd. I ask for your vote so that together, we can revitalize Opelousas.
