About Richard Medical Clinic
A pillar of healthcare in Opelousas’ North-side community reopens under new ownership with family ties and an eye on the future. Legacy combines with youth and innovation to bring quality primary care services to a traditionally under-served community.
Richard Medical Clinic, at 507 N. Market St. In Opelousas will have its ribbon-cutting ceremony on Tuesday October 4, 2022, at 12:00 pm to commemorate it’s reopening to the community. It will once again provide primary medical services to the patients of the greater Opelousas community and its surrounding towns and municipalities. The public is invited to attend this joyous occasion.
Richard Medical Clinic (RMC) has been providing services in this location since 1988. It has been a family-owned, local business providing both medical and pharmacy services for patient convenience and continuity of care. Dr. Richard provided primary care services and Mr. Donald Richard served as the “in house” pharmacist since the doors opened way back then. Since retiring from the practice, Dr. and Mr. Richard have made way for the next generation to step in and continue to fulfill the commitment made to the community all those years ago.
Dr. Dawnia Richard-Willis, RPh. is the first born of the Richard children and is now the owner as well as its full-time pharmacist. She spends her days filling prescriptions and consulting with clients for their healthcare needs. She was born and raised in Opelousas, is a proud Air Force veteran, and has returned to her roots to help carry forward the mission of being the standard-bearer for the delivery of quality, comprehensive health and wellness services to her beloved community.
As a minority-owned business, she has made the commitment to remain in the northside community so she can serve closely and directly those who have traditionally been overlooked or have decreased access to the more abundant services available, by comparison, to those residents on the south-side of the city.
She has assembled a team of medical providers who have a commitment to providing quality healthcare to the Opelousas community. RMC would like to be your medical provider; Dr. Willis would like to remind the community that access to quality service is right here in the neighborhood. She says, “Our customers are not just clients, they are our family” and she makes it her mission to help all who enter achieve their wellness goals.
RMC, along with Acadiana Pharmacy look forward to helping you achieve health, longevity, and happiness. Please stop by or call us at (337)942-1400 -pharmacy and (337) 948-1212 RMC – Richard Medical Clinic for further information or any questions.
