The Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Association is pleased to announce who will reign over our 2023 Mardi Gras Festivities as King Imperial IV, Mr. Jacob L. Jarrell.
King Jacob was born and raised in Opelousas, LA, and continues to call the city his home. Jacob is a 4th generation co-owner of Opelousas-based civil engineering and land surveying firm, Morgan Goudeau and Associates. He gained invaluable experience working on the MGA survey crew during high school summers and made the decision to return to the family business after college graduation. Jacob attended Opelousas Catholic School from PK-12th grade, where he was very active in campus life and athletics throughout his school years. He graduated from Louisiana State University in 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering and a minor in Land Surveying.
King Jacob and his wife Erin have 3 children, Carter (10), William (4) and Adeline (2). He currently serves as President of the Opelousas Catholic School Athletic Council, is an active parishioner of Our Lady Queen of Angels Catholic Church in Opelousas, and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers and the Louisiana Society of Professional Land Surveyors. He is also an active participant in a local ACTS retreat team. King Jacob is a proud family man, avid duck hunter and LSU sports fan.Â
King Imperial IV would like to invite everyone to the Fourth Opelousas Imperial Mardi Gras Ball, February 4, 2023, at the Delta Grand as “Imperial Goes To The Movies”.
