Several years ago the late Bobby Dupre came up with an idea to support the Opelousas Cerebral Palsy Clinic. It was then that the Breakfast With Santa fundraiser began. With support from volunteers and area chefs supporters were treated to a delicious breakfast and an opportunity to socialize with friends and of course have your picture taken with Santa. For many years the event was held at the Indian Hills Country Club but has since moved to the Opelousas Civic Center. The 20th annual Breakfast With Santa began at 7 a.m. with a drive thru pickup available for take home breakfasts. Inside the civic center waiters and waitresses from the Opelousas Kiwanis and Rotary Clubs served mimosas and Cajun-Creole style delicacies to the hungry early risers. Bobby Dupre is no longer with us but his daughter, Kelly, was there representing the Dupre family. Lynn Moreau, Opelousas Cerebral Palsy Clinc director said that $32000 was raised from the event.
