Opelousas Children’s Christmas Parade Returns December 11
Opelousas, LA – The City of Opelousas is proud to announce the return of the Opelousas
Children’s Christmas Parade, set to illuminate downtown on Thursday, December 11, 2025, at
6:00 p.m. This festive event has been a cornerstone of the city’s holiday celebrations for more
than half a century, bringing families and friends together in the spirit of joy, community, and
tradition.
The parade will begin at the eastern gateway of the city at Landry and Academy Streets near Le
Vieux Village, proceeding westward through the historic downtown district and concluding at
Landry and Bullard Streets.
This year’s parade promises dazzling excitement, with lighted floats, lively marching bands,
spirited community groups, dance performances, lovable costumed characters, and—of
course—the parade’s shining star, Santa Claus!
Participant entry forms and information on parade sponsorship opportunities are also available to
review and download online by visiting City of Opelousas Children’s Christmas Parade. To join
in the festivities, please submit your parade registration forms by Friday, December 5, 2025.
Forms can be dropped off at the Opelousas Tourist Information Center at Le Vieux Village or
mailed to Opelousas Tourism, 828 East Landry Street, Opelousas, LA 70570.
