COOPERATIVE EFFORT AMONGST AGENCIES RESULTS IN CAPTURE

Contraband, Taking To and From Penal Institutions
Obstruction of Justice – Evidence Tampering
Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “Early this morning, Jolivette was transported to UHC in
Lafayette for medical reasons. Upon arrival at the facility, Jolivette, who had defeated his
restraints, ran from the transport van. The Lafayette Police Department was notified, as was the
Lafayette Parish Sheriff’s Office and assets were immediately dispatched to the area. Jolivette
was found behind a nearby building and taken into custody without incident. Jolivette has been
returned to the St. Landry Parish Jail and our agency is investigating the matter.” Sheriff
Guidroz adds, “I want to thank the Lafayette Police Department and the Lafayette Parish
Sheriff’s Office for their prompt and professional response to this incident. Cooperation
amongst agencies was perfectly demonstrated today.”
