Burglary of Kayenne’s Bar & Grill

Joe Anderson, public information officer for the Opelousas
Police Department, comes to St. Landry Crime Stoppers and asks for
your help in solving a burglary.
On July 17, 2025, the Opelousas Police Department was notified
of a burglary at Kayenne’s Bar & Grill, located at 603 East Landry
Street in Opelousas. Officers observed damage to a door, an open
cash register and another cash register was found stolen. Surveillance
video shows the alleged suspect leaving the building, carrying what
appears to be the stolen cash drawer. This alleged suspect is seen
walking south on South Oak Street. It is believed that the burglary
occurred at about 6:00 am on July 17th.
