Nick’s on 2nd Street, a popular restaurant located in downtown Eunice, was completely destroyed when a fire broke out around noon Saturday. The E,unice Fire Department, assisted by fire departments from area parishes, battled the blaze for hours before getting it under control. First responders were also on the scene assisting with crowd control and to assist in evacuating the area. Nicks, opened as a bar in 1931, and was a popular eating establishment known throughout Acadiana.
