FIRST FEMALE DEPUTY AWARDED EXPERT MARKSMANSHIP BADGE

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz is pleased to report, “Never in the recorded history of the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s
Office has a female deputy ranked the issuing of the Expert Marksmanship badge. That is, not until Deputy
Kiley Krull. Deputy Krull is attached to the School Resource Officer Unit and is usually found at North Central
High School, her alma mater. That is, when she is not at the St. Landry Parish Training Facility practicing
tactics and shooting skills.”
Sheriff Guidroz goes on to say, “Much of the credit to the accomplishment of Dy. Krull is the excellent training
staff of our agency. Capt. Neil Whatley is credited with the development of the rigorous qualification course
and Capt. Thomas Kimrey, Krull’s supervisor, for his ability to train and hone officer’s skills on the firing
range. You see, it is not only the willingness, skill and discipline of the individual, but having true leaders and
real mentors to identify, cultivate and encourage them. As with most life endeavors, together, unified toward a
purpose, we can achieve much.”
