JOINT AGENCY EFFORT LEADS TO ARREST OF SUSPECTED RAPIST

Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On September 18, 2025, deputies responded to a residence just southwest of
Opelousas, LA for a trespassing complaint. Upon their arrival, the victim notified deputies that she had been
beaten and raped. The investigation revealed that the alleged incident initiated at the Brass Rail Bar in
Opelousas, with the alleged violent act committed in the Lawtell area. The St. Landry Parish Juvenile/Sex
Crimes Division Detectives were called in to investigate and coordinated their efforts with the Opelousas Police
Department.” Sheriff Guidroz continues, “The victim provided law enforcement with considerable detail which
was verified throughout the investigation. It should be noted that Oakley is alleged to have committed 1 st
Degree Rape and Aggravated Battery in St. Landry Parish in 2024, and 2 nd Degree Rape and 2 nd Degree
Kidnapping in 2024 in Lafayette, LA. I would like to express our thanks to the Opelousas Police Department
for their invaluable assistance in this investigation.”
