Criminal Conspiracy to Introduce Contraband into a Penal
Facility
The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division initiated an investigation involving the planned introduction of narcotics and
other contraband into the St. Landry Parish Jail. This act was initiated by inmates, using outside assistance and implicated a
corrections deputy. This ongoing investigation provided information that Nicklous Thomas was involved in the planned criminal
conspiracy and was revealed as a significant narcotics dealer. Narcotics Detectives initiated action to take Thomas into custody on an
arrest warrant and succeeded, despite attempts by Thomas to elude officers. Thomas was arrested with over $12,000 cash in
possession and a search warrant uncovered illegal narcotics at the home. The St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division
will relentlessly pursue any and all illegal narcotics activity and those who wrongly decide to participate in these actions.
