JURY CONVICTS HABITUAL DRUG DEALER
Yesterday, after a one-day trial, Donald Ray Guillory, 60, of Opelousas was
convicted by a St. Landry Parish jury of Distribution of Crack Cocaine after having been
twice convicted of felony drug charges – Possession with Intent to Distribute Crack
Cocaine in 2021 and Possession of Cocaine in 2022. On March 4, 2024, the Opelousas
Police Department received an anonymous tip that Guillory was in possession of the
illegal drugs and conducted an investigation at the Ranch Motel in Opelousas. The
Officers located over fifty rocks of crack-cocaine in Guillory’s pockets.
Guillory was convicted under a sentencing enhancement statute for multiple
offenders of drug crimes. He faces from up to twenty years, with or without hard labor,
and a fine up to $50,000.00. Sentencing is set for November 5, 2026.
