It was a time for celebration Friday afternoon at Senior Village Nursing Home as Joseph L. Moreau Jr. celebrated his 100th birthday surrounded by family, friends and staff. As he entered the room a well deserved round of applause erupted for the celebrant who was born August 1, 1925
Moreau hails from Washington, La. He is veteran having served in the U.S. Navy during World War 2 in the South Pacific. Following his return to civilian life he worked for th railroad and Dow Chemical, retiring from both. He and his wife, Lou Ann who passed away last year, were married for 77 years. They are the parents of three children. He credits his longevity to hard work and clean living and having a loving family all through the years.
