ST. LANDRY JURY CONVICTS SHOOTER IN JUVENILE’S DEATH
Yesterday, October 16, 2025, a St. Landry Parish jury found Da’Qualon Joseph Robinson of Opelousas guilty of Second-Degree Murder along with Obstruction of Justice. The homicide occurred on November 2, 2022, in the 800 block of North Main Street in Opelousas. Evidence at trial outlined a narrative that revealed the fifteen-year-old victim and his friend were walking two younger girls home just after 8:00pm when a car rolled up, words were exchanged, and shots rang out as the car pulled away. Prosecutors Alisa Gothreaux and Kylie Leblanc noted that testimony from three cooperating co- defendants helped solve the case and bring justice to the family of the young man that lost his life. District Attorney Chad Pitre noted, “This was such a needless tragedy a fifteen-year-old lost his life and a fifteen-year-old committed murder on our streets.”
