The aroma of spaghetti sauce and meatballs filled the air at the Ag Arena Saturday as the Opelousas Lions Club held the second annual Spaghetti Cook-Off. It was a fun filled community event with proceeds going to provide eye glasses and vision screenings for those in need and to send children with disabilities to the Lions camp at Anacoco, La. and to defray costs to support local outreach efforts such as disaster relief and food drives.
It was a funfilled day that included food trucks, craft vendors, Junebugs famous snowballs and a play area for the kids. The highlight for the afternoon was the live and silent auction that offered many Saints and LSU items. And what would a cook-off be with live music which was supplied by Party Time Producions, Chubby Carrier and the Louisiana Swamp Band and Rusty Metoyer and Zydeco Krush.
