Sheriff Bobby J. Guidroz reports, “On the morning of February 27, 2026, our School Resource Officer at an
area high school received notification from the school principal that a communication of a bomb threat was
transmitted. The investigation revealed that Hooks, a student, communicated through the school computer
system that she had a bomb strapped to her chest. Once the school was deemed safe, statements were obtained
from those involved. Probable cause was established; Hooks was arrested and booked at the St. Landry Parish
Jail.” Sheriff Guidroz concludes, “Misguided people performing illegal acts can create chaos in our schools.
