St. Landry Parish Government has implemented comprehensive security measures for the 4th Annual ZydeGras on the Square on Mardi Gras Day. All Opelousas Police Department officers assigned to parade operations will also be assigned to Mardi Gras festivities on the Courthouse Square, working in coordination with St. Landry Parish Government Security Officers throughout the event.
A clear bag policy will be enforced, all attendees are subject to search, and anyone 16 years of age and under must be accompanied by an adult. Outside food, drinks, and ice chests will not be permitted on event grounds.
