On behalf of the organizing committee of the St. Landry Parish Veterans Memorial, we  respectfully invite your television, radio, newspaper, and digital media organization to cover our  upcoming Memorial Day Ceremony. 

This annual observance is dedicated to honoring the brave men and women of our Armed Forces  who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. The ceremony will bring together  veterans, military families, public officials, community leaders, and citizens in remembrance and  gratitude. 

The ceremony is scheduled as follows: 

Memorial Day Ceremony – Monday, May 25, 2026 – 10:30 A.M. 

Yambilee Building, 1939 Highway 190 West, Opelousas, Louisiana 

The program will feature patriotic music, greetings from local and state officials, special  recognitions, the POW/MIA Table Setting presentation, ROLL CALLS, and remarks from  our Keynote Speaker, Mr. Larry Williams, Retired First Sergeant, U.S. Army, Louisiana  Department of Veterans Affairs. 

Your presence and coverage would help us share the importance of this meaningful event with  the broader community and ensure that the sacrifices of our fallen heroes are remembered and  honored.
