About Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA)

Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of St. Landry-Evangeline, Inc. works to secure safe and permanent
homes for abused and neglected children in foster care, works to make sure a child in foster care has fewer
placements, and works to make sure a child in foster care doesn’t have to reenter the foster care system.
About St. Landry Evangeline Sexual Assault Center
The St. Landry-Evangeline Sexual Assault Center (SLESAC) has been in existence since 1999 as a non-profit
organization. Our mission at SLESAC is two-fold: to alleviate the suffering and prevention of sexual violence.
We provide comfort and healing to all survivors and their families of sexual violence through medical advocacy
and counseling. SLESAC uses the power of public education to change community attitudes about the causes
and consequences of sexual violence and advocates for victim rights in the law enforcement and criminal justice
system. Our prevention education programs focus on reducing the likelihood of sexual victimization,
particularly in the lives of children and adolescents. It is imperative that we continue to educate and raise
awareness of the effects of violence within our community.
