OPD MAKES SECOND ARREST IN CONNECTION TO DRIVE-BY SHOOTING INVESTIGATION
The Opelousas Police Department has made a second arrest in connection with an ongoing drive-by shooting investigation that previously led to the arrest of Christopher Joseph on April 15, 2026.
Following continued investigation efforts by Opelousas Police Detectives, Tyrion Freeman, age 18, of the 800 block of W. Grolee Street, Opelousas, Louisiana, was arrested April 22, 2026, and charged with:
• Attempted Second Degree Murder
• Illegal Use of Weapons
• Bench Warrant
Freeman was arrested by the Opelousas Police Department and booked into the St. Landry Parish Jail.
This arrest is directly connected to the same investigation involving Christopher Joseph, who was previously arrested on charges of Assault by Drive-By Shooting, Attempted Second Degree Murder, Reckless Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and No Driver’s License.
The investigation remains active and ongoing. Detectives anticipate an additional arrest as the investigation progresses.
