Opelousas, LA, 07/01/2024 – Lance Armentor, President & CEO of Opelousas General Health System, has announced the appointment of Daryl Cetnar, who joined the Opelousas General Health System staff as Director of Marketing effective June 24, 2024.

Cetnar most recently served as Principal of DC 23, his full-service marketing, advertising & communications firm offering marketing, advertising, social media, web design and communications services to clients.  Prior to this entrepreneurship, he worked in healthcare for 12 years. Cetnar served in roles as System Director of Public Relations and Regional Director of Communications at Ochsner Health, a 40-hospital non-profit healthcare system. His primary responsibilities included regional marketing and communications with a focus on local marketing, media relations, strategic growth and digital engagement through storytelling.  Prior to that role, he served as the System Director of Communications at Lafayette General Health.

Cetnar has earned several significant professional accomplishments over the years. In 2023, he worked with WAFB TV on a feature entitled “Letters to Nurses” that garnered a prestigious National Edward R. Murrow Award.  In 2020, he captured IABC Silver Quill Awards Best of Show for COVID-19 Communications. Cetnar received the 2016 Frank V. Leblanc Best of Show Award from Louisiana Hospital Association (LHA) for crisis communication and 2013 Frank V. Leblanc Best of Show Award for top marketing campaign.  In 2015, LHA named Cetnar its Public Relations Practitioner of the Year.

In his role as Director of Marketing, Cetnar will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of marketing, from developing and executing campaigns, to managing budgets and leading a team of skilled professionals. He will manage the health system’s brand identity and internal and external communications strategy.  In addition, he’ll provide support for development, operation, growth and promotion of OGHS, consistent with its mission, vision and strategic priorities.

A native of New York, Cetnar earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Sport Management with a minor in Business from Tulane University in New Orleans. In his free time, Cetnar enjoys traveling, having been to 48 U.S. states, and attending live concerts and sporting events. His wife, Carmen, is certified as both a neonatal nurse practitioner and family nurse practitioner. They have two children, Alex and Sidney.
