Parish Tournament Starts Wednesday

The annual St. Landry Parish Basketball Tournament which involves 14 boys and girls teams, begins Wednesday afternoon at North Central High.
This year the double elimination boys and girls tournament has been extended to four days rather than the usual three days.
Northwest High is seeded first among the boys’ teams, while J.S. Clark Leadership Academy is seeded first among the girls.
Coaches and representatives from all participating parish tournament teams met two weeks ago to determine the seedings.
Team seedings
Boys: 1. Northwest 2. J.S. Clark 3. Beau Chene 4. Opelousas 5. Eunice 6. North Central 7. Port Barre
Girls: 1. J.S. Clark 2. Northwest 3. Opelousas 4. North Central 5. Beau Chene 6. Port Barre 7. Eunice
All games for each division are scheduled at North Central, which has been designated as the 2024 host site for all four days.

Wednesday
2:30 pm — (girls) North Central-Beau Chene
4 pm – (girls) Northwest-Eunice
5:30 pm (girls) Opelousas-Port Barre
7 pm (boys) Opelousas-Eunice
Thursday
2:30 pm – (girls) losers bracket
4 pm – (boys) Clark-Port Barre
5:30 pm – (boys) North Central-Beau Chene
7 pm – (boys) Northwest – (winners bracket opponent)
Friday
2 pm (games start in losers brackets, winners brackets)
Saturday
12:30 pm -3:30 pm (elimination, fifth and third place games)
5 pm. Girls championship
6:30 pm Boys championship
